A dialogue of thoughts. |
Its amazing what scenarios and thoughts the mind can conjure up, there are many a time where I'm left wondering what the hell I was just thinking. I suppose thats why thinking before acting is so important, otherwise we are left with that taste of guilt in our mouth until we're able to clear away what we've done. That sometimes seems impossible when dealing with impulse and spontaneity- 2 things I suffer from. --> -->I suppose we never truly "know" our self since we are forever moving forward in time. We "know" ourselves in this single moment, but most of us are aware that we are constantly forever changing automatically, drastically with each new experience brought on with each and every second that passes forth. So, to say we "know" ourselves is a double-sided statement. I don't think someone being aware that they are not what they should be, and I mean that in the sense that they are aware that they will continue to be more than they are, negates knowledge of self. You can still know who you are...but... The truth really is that we never really know who we are...because we never just "are". --> --> If we truly knew ourselves, if we truly knew anything and everything at all, there would be no point to live. I suppose humans have this addiction to using the word "know" when we can't even begin to understand the word itself. Personally, my troubles lie with not wanting to know things, but with me wanting an understanding of things, an understanding of why things happen. I think one can love ones own self without knowing ones own self when they have come to the conclusion and are comfortable with the idea that they will never know who they are to become and with the idea that we are forever changing. One can love their self by loving the struggle along the way of completing your journey and the growth the path of life brings. And self can be more than what you are at the moment, couldn't self describe the change you are speaking of? Since we are constantly changing, cycling, circling, wouldn't that be a part of self? We are change. Anything and everything is observed only by the observer, there can't be an absolute obeservation. If there was to be an absolute I think the world would be in agreeance with everything and anything. That goes for self awareness as well, we can never have a steady observation of where we are in life if we are forever changing positions to observe ourselves from. |
