This is about my daughter. She was so independent at age one when I wrote this.
Tiny Fingers

Wrapped hands around tiny fingers

Squirming to be set free

The girl remembered that same cage

and wanting to be free

Tugging tiny fingers

Just let me go into the day

Too many boundaries

set to block the way

Time will find, just like the girl,

that you will find your freedom.

And in that time, tiny fingers

will set their own boundaries

and discover that you need them.
