A little girl dreams she's dancing to the summer's song...
Imagine…
A warm summer’s day,
The sun just setting
Beneath the trees.
The sky, like water,
A glistening blue,
A lulling lake.
The stars sing songs
As they dance for the wind,
Which in turn twirls the leaves
And dips the branches.
The trees sigh
In their sweet sweet tranquility,
While the field sways to its song.
A child dances in the dark,
Her arms outstretched
Leading the wind in its waltz.
Her soft stubby fingers
Lightly brush the grasses,
Her tips playing notes to the night.
Before the last final bow,
She will lay and bask in her song.
Lying on soft silky sheets
Each rose pedal rocking her to sleep.
In the morning she knew
It was all but a dream
But, the smell of the roses
Still held sweet in the air
A secret Dream of Summer
A scent of her song.
