A poem about isolation from the things we want most.
Standing on the shore, one can clearly view
An island adorned with beauty all through.
At first, it filled me with feelings so true:
A deep joy within, felt only be few.

Yet as days wore on, my discontent grew,
For I'd longed to taste that green morning dew,
To hear the call of that pearly sea mew.
When compared with these, what good was the view?

But during my trek across ocean blue,
The waves came fiercely to push me askew.
I could not find the strength inside, I rue,
To weather on, to conquer and pursue.

Washed back up ashore, the time is now due:
I must painfully bid my dreams adieu.
