A sonnet I wrote about a friend who seems to not want his friends talking to me.
Sonnet 2

Why do you pretend to care about me?
You hide me as if you are too afraid
of what other friends that you may have made
will say about such different company,
or of how this new friendship came to be.
Why are you daunted of how they may raid
our friendship? Aren’t you tense that it may fade?
That it may fall apart and cease to be?
How can you say such nice things of the heart
so warm and kind that it forces me still
to forgive and forget against my will.
Why do I let you just tear me apart?
Hark! for I have discovered what is real,
my love for you is true, right from the start.
