Chapter 1

What’s Your Favorite Song or Movie?

Alright, here we go! Are you ready for the #1 Time Saver of all time? Do you think you can handle such profound knowledge? Is your brain large enough to receive and retain such a grand nugget of wisdom? Do you want me to get on with it? OK, drum roll please!

(Imagine a drum roll)

The main Time Savers for all humankind are….movies and music!!!! YES!!!! YES!!!! Can you feel the enlightenment? Is that rush from learning something new coursing through your veins?

What’s the puzzled look about?

THAT is The Golden Nugget of wisdom: movies and music. You don’t get it? OK, onto Explanation Expressway! → Ah! You are on Explanation Expressway. We will visit here quite often throughout the book. Now…herte is how movies and music are Time Savers. Or, should I say Time Keepers?

I, myself, have been a devout STAR WARS (Lucasfilm Ltd) fan for 30 years and a straight- up CRAZY fan of Star Trek (Paramount) for about 34 years. And, yes, I was RIGHT THERE for EVERY episode of the cartoon version, too! I am also an ‘80s child and jazz fan. I also like bowling, singing, walks in – Oops. Sorry. I forgot myself. The BOOK, Gregory. The BOOK!

Anyway, I just listed my favorite movies and music that helps me track my time. How? I’ll tel you. I have the last 5 out of 6 STAR WARS movies committed to memory, from the Fox Fanfare in Episode IV to the end of Episode II. Episode III will be memorized shortly, but within that fantastic saga that George Lucas began and blessed us with in 1977 are my Time Keepers. Here’s how it works….

From the Fox Fanfare to the end of the space battle when the Imperial Star Destroyer leaves orbit of Tattoine: 9 minutes. From there until the Jawa Sandcrawler arrives at Uncle Owen’s farm while he was looking over droids for sale: 15 minutes. From there until Luke Skywalker sees Princess Leia in a hologram meant for Obi-Wan Kenobi: 20 minutes.

If I don’t have my key in the ignotopn (or arrive at the bus stop) by the time C-3PO says “No. I don’t like you, either” to R2-D2, I have exceeded 25 minutes and I am running late!

I know what you’re thinking: “Who IS this NUT? Get a LIFE, dude!” Well, I actually do have a life. With STAR WARS on my side I’ve had more success than failure in getting things done and getting to places on time. Not to belabor the subject, but, in closing this chapter, if you want to see all my STAR WARS SAGA 5, 10, 15, 30, 45, 60, 90 and 120 minute Time Keepers, please go to the end of this book. If you wish not to deal with this litany of “Time Keepers”, please proceed to the music. Let’s get ready to JAM!!!

“Yes, but where is this place?”

“Where none have gone before.”
