Answer To My Prayers

As a child I’d pray each night, Lord please help me do everything right
Let there be peace, protect all souls, and Lord someday bring me love
Someone to hold, and be held to, the one who makes me feel whole, the
one who truly will never let go.
He’ll walk with me wherever I go, his love will be stronger than I’ll ever know, the man who will long for me when we’re apart, the one to whom I’ll give my heart.
Now as I whispered this prayer I knew this love wouldn’t come easy
I’d have to do my share of the work.
Sometimes I felt as if this love would never come, with all the wrong I’ve done, but now I feel alive with you in my life.
I won’t lie you know there were others before you but I know those loves were never true, you had others before me as well, you’ve had pain I can tell.
I only hope you can truly see I’m not those from your past, I’m for real
all the ways I feel will last... I want to grow old with you by
my side holding me tight as you do while we sleep at night
When I leave this earth as my work is done, and I whisper one last
prayer I will thank the Lord that you’re the one. I’m blessed he joined our souls together, that as I close my eyes, take my last breath I’ll know
you’re holding my hand and that you’ve never left, that you’re still mine forever.
Through our ups and downs all I had to do was take your hand knowing then it was all ok.You’re my last thought of every day, I’m no longer afraid you’ll go away.
I only hope you don’t fear me, for here for you I’ll always be. I as well won’t leave your side; I hope I make you feel alive more than you ever have. This is
real the love we share, and when we’re apart close your eyes I’m right there,
but don’t close your eyes to us; for you have my heart, you have my trust.
