I scream inside,
but nobody cares
all they see
are the patches and tears

So what if I have clothes
that aren't the best?
and why are you mean
and say my hair is a nest?

I long for a break,
just a time to be alone
to not have someone mock me
even if it's just over the phone

my parents ignore me
my sister's a pain
my brother's obnoxious
and I cry in the rain

is something wrong with me
or am I just fine?
what does your concious say
when you stand in line

to mock me, to hate
to tell me I'm wrong
well, all I can say
is this is my song

I cannot change
who I am inside
so when I reach out
and forget to hide

encourage
instead of judge
smile
instead of nudge

a kind word
is all it takes
to save someone
from several different fates

say something nice to me
