This was my first poem: I wrote it when I was 16
Unknowing

Lying down and thinking hard,
Emotions passing like sun kissed frost.
Thoughts turn to those we love,
And to those we’ve hurt with broken hearts.

Depression looms as night draws on,
Hard to keep at bay.
Music drives it endlessly,
And I look for help in my mind.

What keeps me going, I do not know,
Is it love, hate, anger and pain,
or rational thoughts of everyday?
The answer forever lies hidden.

But something is there, holding me up,
As I lie here writing this.
Forever I am thankful for it,
Though I know not what it is.
