Thoughts after a late winter blizzard
Dreaming of green and yellow, the red bird offers a burst of hope against the starkness.
Brown covered by white, yellow sun getting stronger, poised to overtake the icy darkness.
Wind screaming in the yard, naked trees whipped into submission.
It's your last gasp, your death rale, you must surrender to the transition.
