for a cynic, when he smells flowers, looks for a grave
The cynic stands with baited breath for apropos remark,
For ruining others' thought, to him, would be a jolly lark.

Time to him is nothing for he knows that humans fade.
Their figures blur and nothing's left on which to promenade.

He likes to watch, see others fail, and when they do he'll smirk.
He sees himself above these human things like strife and work.

Remorse does come eventually but too long do others wait,
To see a tear, a sign of fear, or tremble of his gait.

At last he breaks, we see him fall alone, in disrepair.
His smile ends and he is lost amidst the silence there.
