Finding Home Background I started Finding Home last November for NaNoWriMo. Again, I couldn't manage to finish. This is my current WIP writing wise, so it is not yet complete. Right now I am working on getting the story out, but constructive criticism is VERY welcome and I will save it up for my editing process later. Finding Home is the 6th novel in the Kapshaw series. Though it can stand alone, it's a bit easier to follow with some backstory about the Kapshaw series. The Kapshaw Series The Kapshaw series started in 2002 with my first attempt (and completion) of the NaNoWriMo challenge. In this month, I wrote the first draft of my novel The Road That Leads Home (available at www.lulu.com/nicoletbeck). This novel follows the love story between Gabriel Kapshaw and Laney Roberts. In The Road That Leads Home I introduce the four Kapshaw brothers that serve as the basis of the Kapshaw series. Mark and Steven both have their own stories (available at www.lulu.com/nicoletbeck). Roger, an alcoholic and criminal, did not get his own novel for obvious reasons. Finding Home is about Roger's biological daughter, whom he never knew about, who comes to Lilac Grove in search of Roger. Story Deborah Stone had a nice, ordered life in Detroit. She had loving adoptive parents who had given her a family since she was seven. She followed her adoptive father's footsteps and became a lawyer. But, when Deb learns that her biological mother passed away she also learns the identity of her biological father. Despite reservations, she feels the need to find this man. This brings her to Lilac Grove, and a whole new life she never expected. Kyle Connely moved back to Lilac Grove after leaving when he was told a family secret. He's ready to build a business and start a life back where he grew up. When he meets Deborah Stone, and hears her story, Kyle can't help but fall for the quiet, scared lawyer from Detroit. |
