Amelia uses her brain to get herself out of a sticky situation.
It was clear as day that there was no way out of this situation. Once a vampire had you in his clutches, you could count your life as good as over. Both Amelia and Salem knew this. Of course, they did not take it in the same way.
While Salem was smirking with triumph, Amelia was fighting for her life. Salem's grip on her neck was so tight, that she could not breathe. A pitiful whimper escaped her lips as she struggled against his hold. Salem chuckled and narrowed his eyes at her. "What happened to the best huntress in the world?" He questioned, almost disgusted by her weakness. Amelia ignored him and swung one of her legs at his stomach. Casually, Salem moved out of the way, still holding onto her, and rolled his eyes. "You missed."
Amelia closed her eyes and tried to think of a way out of this. If she wanted to live, she would have to think fast. Suddenly, she remembered the small dagger fastened safely from one of her belt loops. It might work. She thought and began reaching for the weapon.

Zack watched from the other side of the room as Amelia struggled against Salem. He wanted to help her, he really did, but it was against the rules. If a hunter could not stand up for his or her self, then they were better off dead.
That was rule number two, and there were many more. He knew it was stupid and insane, but what could he do?
So, he watched as she tried again and again to free herself. At one moment she even reminded him of the helpless, little girl he found hiding behind a trash can years ago. He was dissapointed, yet, he was not. What else could you expect from a scared teenager?
Just when he was beginning to lose all hope, he saw something that made him smile. She was reaching for her dagger, the one he gave her for Christmas last year.

"Everyone! Feast your eyes on this!" Salem yelled out into the crowd; his voice eager and excited. "I, a simple servant to our master, have captured the most feared huntress in the world!" Everyone one of his remaining men cheered. Salem smirked and directed his attention back to Amelia. "You see, you're not so special after all.  You will go down just like the others before you who have tried to destroy us." Amelia held his gaze and said nothing; her fingers wrapped around the handle of the dagger tightly. Just a few more seconds. Salem shook his head almost sadly. "I thought you would be different, a challenge." He leaned down; his lips at her ear. "I will drink from you right in front of your men to show them just how pitiful you mortals are..." His cold fingers traced a line across one of the vains in her neck and he smiled. "There."
Just at that moment, Amelia raised her hand, the dagger shining in the dim light of the cavern. "Exactly."
Salem didn't even manage one blink before he felt a sharp pain in his chest. His grip loosened around Amelia's neck as he screamed out in pain.
Amelia felt the cool air rush back into her lungs as she took refreshing breaths, one after another. "Don't...you...ever do that again..."She gasped out. She turned around and glared at the remaining men in her 'group'. "What are you waiting for! Kill them all!"
