A poem on the tug of war between your mind and heart
THE WAR WITHIN

The mind, it says has decided,
To declare war on heart.
The body on the other hand dread,
That it shall break apart.

The mind shouts that it shall attack,
"I told you what I have perceived,
Why with practicality you lack?
Why are you so ready to be deceived."

The heart replied"you shall never know!
What means to you human relations?
Or what is it like to run in the snow?
Why you are so devoid of emotions?"

To this the mind got into fits of rage.
"Why, to you, you yourself lie?
Visits of Pain and Suffering you encourage.
When you know they would make you cry?"

To this heart smiled,
"You shall never be happy for your gains.
And would have never enjoyed or rejoiced,
If you were never encountered with Suffering and Pain"

Then the mind scorned and laughed,
"It is not that I never had any days rough.
But with strength to strength I walked,
To me Logic and Reason are words enough."

Heart then said "Filled with fog and mist there will be days.
And at times you shall fight against an oracle.
How is it then you shall find your ways?
When you obviously don't believe in a miracle!"

"I know that the future lies in my own hand.
In the race of life,I shall run,
And in the most deserving place I shall stand.
Miracle v/s Hardwork, we shall see it then."

"It hardly matters where you stand.
What you shall know? You are made of stone.
What matters is who is holding your hand.
Victory shall feel incomplete when you are alone!"

"But such a person is impossible to find.
The world is ruled with people like me.
For it is agreed that the heart is losing the battle to mind.
To get a fruit, first you need a tree."

"You shall see in the days to come.
I shall get back my crown.
People shall turn me again into their ally,
And then shall I see you frown."

"You have a habit of living in the illusionary world.
All that matters to you is friendship and love.
For me this is but a meaningless word,
For I find no interest in the wings of a dove."

"What for in life will you exactly run?
When you wont have any dream to chase.
What in life would you call fun?
When for nothing you would have craze?"

Finally the body interrupted,
"Stop fighting, you two already.
Both of you I equally need.
Balance it well and my life shall be steady."

"But you will have to choose,
And declare the king,
Decision shall be your's,who shall win, who shall lose?
Who shall fly and who shall be left with a crippled wing?"

Which is stronger is still unknown.
The kingdom of life, who shall better lead,
For you decided not to know who won,
Accordingly, the cards of your future shall read.
