It All Comes From You

If you don't look after yourself, it is
Foolish to expect others to look after you.

Be a friend to yourself, then others will be friends to you;
Love yourself, then others will love you, too;
Respect yourself, and they will respect you.
Appreciate yourself and your own work,
And they will do the same.
Find yourself worthy, and they will see you the same way.
Be true to yourself, and they will be sincere
In dealing with you.
It all comes from you.

If they don't, it doesn't matter, because
You are one, you are whole -- united inside.
But, if it bothers you -- and you have to be careful
Not to deny or to repress...you need the truth
In order to heal --
Understand that what you see there outside
Is a reflection of whatever is inside.
It all comes from you.

If you deceive yourself
then what you see is an illusion
and truth would be such a pain to you.
It all comes from you.

If you are nice to another, but
not to yourself, be careful...
You might find betrayal right at your doorstep.
It all comes from you.

Trust then the wisdom of the moment
Good or bad, the gift has come a long way
To enrich you and to heal you, and really
It all comes from you.
