A record of the memorable days working at a Hardware store from my point of view.
-Empty Application- Ch 1

After living in Naches Washington for about five months, I have decided to get a job, well, my Dad decided, but, I was happy to have something to do. I went down to Ace Naches, bought a lawn chair, some M&M's, and aquired an application for employment. I filled that sucker out when I got home, all I had to do was put my name and age on it, my first job. Have to start somewhere. Walked back to the store, handed the application to the crazy looking boss man, who was a foot shorter than me, but, full of energy. I had an instant interview.

"You haven't done much have you." Wade Smith says as he was thumbing through the empty pages of my form of employment

"Nope." Rolling my eyes "We all have to start somewhere right?" So nervous I was, lack of confidence, and Mr. Wade saw that.

"What's two plus two?" Asked the crazy boss man, I started to feel way better after the joke.

"Twenty-two" I replied and slightly laughed at the same time.

"Be here at two o-clock tomorrow." He put my file in the file-cabinet. "You Have a Job."

I left, went home, and silently celebrated.

The end of May marked my first employment opportunity in 2002. I started on a Friday after school at 2:00 like the man said. I walked there, about half a mile. Not too bad, I didn't have a car, started minimum wage. I think it was 7.25 at the time, and had no bills to pay. Anyways, I walked in the door, no customers, just Wade and another person named John......something, and later I found out that he was on the gayish side. (no-offence to anybody) I had to close the store down that night with John. I worked, swept the floor, helped people find stuff. At six, John Whatever said I could leave. I really wanted to, but, I said no for some work ethic points. I stayed and brought the outside stuff inside so no-one "borrows it" at night. Then I locked some doors.

We both left at the same time, he drove home in his silver Honda, and I started walking. It was only 6:30, I had no friends, so I chilled out at home for the remainder of the evening, drank a Red Bull, and played some video games.
