TWISTED

Thought you were going one way,
but found yourself twisted around.
Which direction are you headed?
Is it right or wrong?
Before you can answer,
another twist has twisted you around.
A new path is open to you.
Dare you travel it?
Or do you hope for another twist
to turn you around?
Why? you wonder, do the twists come,
twisting your life, twisting your thoughts
twisting reality around?
So many twists can confuse and deceive,
and lead one astray.
But then, the twist of the matter is,
twists can be overcome and turned around.
A twist is just an option, possibly a new beginning.
It does not have to hinder.
If life is as it is, the twists will be bygones.
But if you chose wrong the first time,
the twists come to open your eyes, to say you were wrong.
Only if change lays in your heart,
will you see the twists as roads of direction, as means to a new end.
You can twist
part way and try something new,
or you can twist all the way,
to where you began to spin
and continue on.
