He delays not His coming 'Though manger is bed. Mother Mary is humming; She cradles his head. In the sky, see the angels Announce divine birth. With excitement their song swells, "Be filled with great mirth!" All the shepherds take cover; Each falls on his face. Heaven's hosts stay; they hover to sing of God's grace. Every shepherd finds comfort; Bold, rises to stand. Led by star to the King's court, They trail angel band. Wise men travel far distance To worship God's Heir. Herod sees this as his chance, And plans he a snare. Christ to honor full measure, Kings knelt where they were. Then they offered their treasure: Gold, incense and myrrh. God by dream redirected The kings on that day. To their homes, undetected, As he led the way. Jesus Christ grew in beauty; The carpenter's Son. He chose passion and duty; Against evil, won. Screaming throngs tried to silence God's Word clothed in flesh. But the Groom's poised to marry His bride, pure and fresh. He delays not returning, Nor hides He His face.
