a glimpse into the muse behind my writing
Well today I considered the idea that everybody has a creative Muse, a little inner voice that helps him or her with whatever talent they profess to have. With this in mind I thought they maybe if I could visualize mine it would be able to tap into it easier since it appears that I have at least temporarily blocked it out. So I guess this how I describe what mine must look like. Okay so here goes…I guess that it is probably male, between the ages of 17 and 25, and seemingly dark. I believe that it’s male because most of my writing comes off as power filled and while I’m brainstorming it’s as if I’m communicating with somebody that is undoubtedly masculine. Sometimes literally littered with back and forth banter, it’s almost scary watching how the “conversation” goes on between me and myself. Also it seems that gender and age must be exact on because of how sexually charged my creative energy seems to be sometimes; like that of a guy in the prime of his sex life. That idea is mainly prominent when I’m writing porn or the more violent parts of the story, otherwise I would contend that the muse is gender-less or perhaps androgynous. As it were I picture him as male, young, perched on a shelf, one leg bent, kind of leaning against the wall- terribly relaxed. His hair is mop- like and unkempt, and he smokes, he drinks, and swears a lot during the writing process. Sometimes getting so frustrated with my inability to grasp what he is trying to get me to write that he yells, shakes his head, and looks at me in disbelief; normally this type of condescending behavior would piss me off, but it seems when he does I just laugh and the relaxation makes it easier to let it all come through. It also prevalent that he is probably more like an elf rather than human, not that he comes off as green or with pointed ears- just the way I see him he is small, at least small enough to fit on a corner shelf.
