This poem describes a lot about teenage life- and love.
Roses in a Holly Wreath

Going through routine then finding new meaning,
Find roses in a holly wreath.
At this mountain of hopes and fears I’m kneeling.
Dive to discover what’s underneath.

Yellow sweet rose turned red as blood falls.
Matched cards in a mixed suit?
Listen to your true nature as it calls,
Move through the maze and get to the root.

Look in the mirror and see new person,
Glowing in the breeze of emotions and truth,
Or see a shattered glass before you,
Build your broken core anew.

Whether you’re black or white we’re human.
Emotions shared no different inside.
Chance and truth and love and confusion,
Take the beast by the horns and go for a ride.
