There's a silence tonight,
I'm beginning to fear.
There's a hole in what's right,
But I'm afraid it's not clear.
And you know, it's amazing,
I can still stand right here;
When I've been losing so much ground,
It's not what I fear.
So many years,
And worlds we've explored;
Do you think you would mind,
If this I implored?
Could you tell me what I was thinking,
When we went into war?
Could you tell me the truth,
I so blatantly ignored?
Could you talk me down,
Take the knife from my hand?
Could you keep power away,
When it cannot be banned?
And when there's nothing to fight for,
'Cause it's already dead,
Will you have the strength,
To trust me again?
**I'm pretty sure this is a poem 'written' from the perspective of one of my characters from my book series.**
