Emotional poem about how Christmas came to be.
‘Twas The Night For A Christmas Story
By: Jas M.

‘Twas the night before Christmas and out in the snow,

Was a man and a woman, with no place to go.

Both were eagerly searching for a safe place,

For Mary was pregnant, they had to make haste.

To Mary and Joseph was a baby to come,

Everyone was to know him as God’s only Son.

Far in the distance, Joseph saw a light.

It was there that they would stop for the night.

The owner said we haven’t room but we do have a shack.

Here, I’ll show you, it’s out in the back.

Away in a manger, low and behold,

A baby was born and his story is told.

3 Wise men came, bringing incense, myrrh and gold,

The sight before them, warmed their soul.

“This precious little babe,” Mary said, “I love him to pieces,”

“Now for a name . . . I’ll call him Jesus.”

Gathered round were wise men and animals both wild and tame,

They pranced and smiled, God’s son had a name.

Jesus grew to become a wondrous man,

He still spreads joy, I know he can.

That is why we should all be giving,

Spreading cheer, and enjoy living.

For it was not long after this special day,

That Mary had to give her son away.

Up on the cross they cruelly pounded,

His hands and feet, and the trumpets sounded.

He died in hopes that we’d find his love,

And someday join him up above.

So just remember, this holiday season,

That Christmas is so for just this reason.

God only had just one wish,

That we’d love and accept His Christmas gift.
