Returning

Returning to life
like the flowers in spring
where have they been all winter?

They have been there
buried beneath winter's cold blanket
awaiting the warmth of spring

So has it been for me
waiting for the warmth of others
once again to feel alive

Little by little...I thaw
those tiny seeds breaking open
pushing for the surface

The sun...warmth...light
I have waited so long
so long...to return
