My opinion on how it should be at WDC |
WDC is a wonderful community where an individual should feel free to voice his/her opinion, but in a polite and respectful way. As a loyal and devoted member, lately I've seen these imperative things ignored. Although it hasn't been me who has been personally attacked, I've been witness to such on several occasions. WDC is like a second home to me, just as it is to numerous others here. It's a community where you can make dear friends and share common interests. It's not one that appreciates verbal attacks or misuse of guidelines stipulated. I've written a little poem about what it's not about in my opinion. "IT'S NOT ABOUT" It's not about the color of another's case, or trying to deliberately make another lose face. It's not about always being right or wrong. This is a community where all should get along. It's not about attacking others out of pettiness, or a community that thrives on such foolishness. It's not about interfering in another's affairs. WDC is a community for everyone to share. This is how I feel about Writing.com and what I've observed lately. I love it here, and always try to encourage, not discourage, new writers and those seeking friendship and/or help. Most of the others here feel as I do, which is one of the numerous reasons I like it here. To those who choose to deliberately butt into matters that are none of their concern or seek to make trouble, WDC isn't a community for them. Give us all a break, and let those of us who are devoted to the site retain the peace wanted. A real family/community strives to maintain love and serenity, not to obliterate it. If that's kept in mind, the community we share will be enjoyed always. |
