Poem about the Fragility of Life
Introductory Quote: One Life; A little gleam of Time between two Eternities; no second chance to us forevermore! - Thomas Carlyle (1795-1881)

The Fragility of Life

A life is born for every second that we can count.
And many more are gone as the seconds amount.
The days of our lives are short lived and rushed,
At times we forget that life could suddenly be crushed.

Our society encourages our livelihood to improve,
And we continually keep falling in the same old groove.
No time to reflect that at any moment our life can end,
Stopping the needed time for our families to attend.

As we work hard to build our future and our goals attain,
Let us ensure that consequently the efforts will not be in vain.
Finding a balance to live and work with very minimum pain,
Will be the ideal recipe for us to a happy life sustain.

In the mind, we create today how we see the world tomorrow.
It’s up to us, to lend a hand to reduce the pain and sorrow.
The children around us are a reminder of what once we were,
See life through their eyes, smile a little more, and light some myrrh.

What we are today is the result of the choices made in the past.
If any change to improve is needed, is usually not very vast.
Keep the good things that are worth keeping which do not hurt another.
As they have feelings, can feel pain, and like you were born from a mother.

So let’s wake up today with a brand new life perspective.
Analyze, question and challenge your existing life objective.
If any changes are needed, consider making them soon,
Set a goal, set a challenge before the next full moon.

Everything in life takes time, hard work, persistence, and dedication.
Our own human history is filled with lives that instill pure inspiration.
So look forward, and take some time to add whatever needed spice,
But let us all never forget about the evident fragility of life.
