A poem that uses philosophies from The Tao of Pooh to describe how life should be. |
Let go of thought Let go of desire Let go of reason And your memory What do you see? What have you become? I see everything... I see the universe Everyone Everything It's absolutely amazing I see a man standing in the window of his apartment Getting ready to jump I see the oncoming collapse of the American nation After all, we all know it in the back of our heads Not all civilizations last forever I see my life laid out before me Everyone's lives laid out before me But I can't tell them, it'd spoil the surprise And no one wants that I see the lies and deceit That build human nature It makes me sad It's as if the world is becoming another Rape of Nanjing But in all horror there is light A silver lining A single smile in a sea of chaos I see a little boy playing with a puppy That he just got this afternoon I see a happy mother Playing with her toddler Cherishing the moment In a mental photo album I see a teenage girl Laughing with her friends It's the simplest things that make up our lives I see a boy who did something wrong And the small group of people who support him When the rest have left him to wither away I see an entire community Rising against authority To right the wrong I see so many people who care A minority Among those who don't But most of all I see a road An unused road worn by use And standing stately and proudly at it's side Is a sign that reads in great bold letters “Nothing” If you follow this road called Nothing You'll reach a place called Nowhere A wonderful magical place It has no secrets no answers And if you sit there, quietly You can hear the sweetest sound The most beautiful and soothing sound Silence... It's a wonderful place, trust me Just take a vacation and go there And if you like, that's great! Go there some more Just float off in forgetfulness Like a dream It all seems hazy Yet is seems so clear Lose yourself in bliss In the absence of lies In the absence of screaming The absence of distress And don't think you can't go there Everyone can You've done it before When you were a child Go to a place of mystic and wonder Of thoughts long forgotten The survives in everyone's minds In the absence of thought To Nothing To Nowhere To Galleon's Lap |
