The death of an old man
Alone the old man sat
thinking of where he was at
Nothing seemed real at all
as the world began to fall

Death was rapping and tapping
as the door was gently cracking
A shadow crept in with a whisper
as the man felt a cold shiver

The house grew very dark
then there was a sudden spark
A fire revealed the mans body
as his spirit rose disembodied

He looked down at the wretched site
as a women looked on in fright
He smiled sorrowfully as he faded
as she fell down unaided

Her tears streamed like a river
as she began to quiver
With one last glance
she began to advance

The mans spirit stopped at the door
as he looked at the old whore
He allowed one last breath
saying “look now upon Death”

As he glided through the door
he could not ask for more
than death for his sins
for all he had been

Through the whores mouth
she said “you were always due south”
She laughed through the tears
as she rose a glass and said “cheers”
