Thoughts on Death
Death, oh where shall I find you?
Once the others all have gone?
And is it then as bittersweet
As life has gone along?

Could you spare me no remorse
To bring back all who need it?
If the tears shed of a mother
Cannot yet redeem it?

There has been such haunting talk
Among this day and time
And I only hope to meet you
At a grey old age, sublime

For your agenda is unknown
We predict no end, no start
And for fear of losing faith
We each play our part
