Alice wakes up to find her mother gone and her house transformed into a bizarre world.
Alice’s Mad Adventure
By: w.d.glada

Chapter One

When Alice woke up that morning, she knew that something was a little different in her house. In fact, it was a lot different! Her entire bedroom was upside down! From her nightstand to her dresser, it was all turned on it's head - including a certain bed on which a little girl had been sleeping until, of course, she woke up and noticed that the bed was on top of her.
Alice squirmed and struggled under the heavy bed until she could squeeze her way out. Gasping from the exertion, Alice stood in her room with a look of childlike wonder and fear on her face, which is understandable considering the predicament she had woken up to. Soon, though, Alice's childish instincts kicked in and she ran for the door, screaming for her mother.
Fate (or the house) seemed to be against this poor girl today. You see, there are certain events that if they were to happen to me, the fear that I would experience would be enough to send me into a catatonic shock.
Finding three trolls in my hallway would be one of those events.
So, when Alice found three trolls standing in her hall and didn't faint, that is, to me, a sign of great character strength...or a sign that her body froze to the ground in fear. Either one, really.
The three trolls* were tall, grey and very ugly, the ugliness being one of the chief physical traits of trolls. I do, however, know of a troll named Steve, who was quite the looker. I was interested in writing a story about his many adventures involving damsels in distress, heroic dragon slayings and other heroic adventures, but, tragically, Steve was hit by a bus and surprisingly, turned to jelly. Rasberry, I think. Whatever. It tasted good on toast.

Author's Note: This story was originally written in ten minute spans over several weeks. So, as a result the story is not as full in typewritten format. But I didn't want to change too much and thus, alter the episodic feel that the story is meant to be read in. So, keep that in mind as you read this short little piece of writing. More to come.
