Advice. Things I feel strongly about!
PART 1
Chapter 1--Relationships--Abusive or Not--

So in my opinion there are two kinds of relationships, good and bad. Now there are easy ways to tell whether or not you have a good or bad relationship. In one there's abuse and in another there's not. Sounds simple, but for some people they don't really realize what abuse is.
There are, in a relationship, typically four kinds of abuse, emotional, physical, sexual and mental. Now abuse is one thing, in the dictionary that I used there were ten definitions of the word "abuse". Here they are:
1. to use wrongly or improperly
2. to treat in harmful, injurious, or offensive way
3. to speak insultingly, harshly, and unjustly to or about
4. to commit sexual assault upon
5. obsolete. to deceive or mislead
These defintions are used in a different sense:
6. wrong or improper use; misuse
7. harshly or coarsely insulting language
8. bad or improper treatment; maltreatment
9. a corrupt or improper practice or custom
10. rape or sexual assault

In the above definitons every single kind of assault is listed. The first type of assault in a relationship that we are going to talk about is Emotional Abuse. This is the type of abuse that people outside of the relationship hear about and see most commonly. The definiton of Emotional Abuse is: a serious mistreatment of another person's feeling or emotional needs.

Emotional abuse can be much harder to deal with than a physical beating, there are no bruises to show a police officer and the victim can never really understand how it makes them feel, except worthless. Like trash. Some people think that emotional abuse is something that you can shake off, like the saying, "Stick and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me." Well that definitely isn't true. When you are in a relationship and you are leaning on that person and that person is the one and only thing your life that you look up to, you love that person, you would like to that person no matter what. Well when they call you names persistantly and constantly treat you like trash, well those names that they're calling you are going to start to stick and you may even start to think that it what you really are.
