They thought she was crazy...
I took my umbrella
to work on a sunny day.
Everyone whispered,
she's finally flipped.
I sat in the breakroom at lunch
staring at my food.
Everyone whispered,
she's nuts!
They didn't see the ant,
knocked to the floor.
I couldn't bring myself to eat it
what if there were more?
Peanut-butter and jelly
in a ziploc, in the trash.
Everyone whispered,
told the boss I'd lost it.
I found my old raincoat
in the bottom drawer
as I cleaned out my desk.
The box was full, so I slipped it on.
Everyone whispered
she really needs help.
I shoved the box in my trunk,
the umbrella in the floorboard
and climbed under the wheel.
I turned on the radio
and the wipers
as rain splattered my windshield.

Everyone screamed
It's raining!
As they disappeared under
the rainbow in my rearview mirror...
