Synopsis – No Finish Line
         Alex foreman has just won his first Ironman triathlon. Later that evening at the awards banquet, a strange man approaches Alex with an offer to compete in an exclusive, invitation only event. It will be a triathlon with no finish line – each athlete will continue on in the race until they physically can not go any further. Alex and his wife argue over the offer as this past race was to be his last. But knowing that he would always regret not doing this, she finally gives in.
         On the way to the race, he meets up with an old friend and fellow triathlete Victor Reid who will also be competing. At the pre-race meeting they are given more information on the race as well as a special watch to track their progress during the event. Once all athletes have put on these “special” watches, they learn the true nature of the race. They will compete until they can not go on any longer, at which point they will be shot and eliminated from the competition. The watches will track their movements and speed and are also equipped with a small explosive in case they think of trying to escape. Above the athletes in the hall are several hundred balconies. In these balconies are a group of wealthy elite that will be watching and betting on the race.
         Victor and Alex meet up with a few other guys to try to work out a plan to escape. The evening before the race, Alex goes down to the beach and is able to get a call out and leaves a brief message for his wife Kara.
         As the race begins, Alex goes over his strategy and settles in for the swim portion drafting off another swimmer to conserve energy. Within the first hour, two athletes are eliminated. The first runs out of time and is shot. The second swims through the pool of blood left behind from the first and tries to swim outside the marked off course. He is immediately overtaken by a school of sharks. Night-time poses the problem of vision, which is quickly fixed as the course lights up from a series of rope lights in the water and spotlights on land. The next day brings some stomach and chaffing problems for Alex as he tries to just to get through the swim.
         At home, Kara has received Alex’s message and does believe it. She tries to contact someone about it but has trouble finding someone to believe her. After a lot of complaining she is finally able to get an FBI agent to listen to the answering machine tape.
         After the swim, two more people are taken out during the first transition due to problems with their bikes.
         The FBI try to trace the call that Alex had made, but hit a series of dead ends. The FBI is however, able to trace the flight patterns for the plane that took Alex to the race. From airport documents they are then able to determine whose planes they were.
         On the island, a lone spectator who is actually a reporter in disguise, sneaks off to make notes of the event as they take place.
         Alex once again meets up with Victor on the bike. They start to work on an escape plan again and form a peleton of riders to help them conserve energy.
         The FBI is able to trace the planes back to the owner, and find out that the same man owns a series of islands off the Pacific coast.
         As darkness sets in, Alex and Victor are able to work out a plan to get some sleep which includes fashioning their bikes together so that one person can sleep while two others pedal. As morning comes, they break up their group and continue on their own for a while. Alex witnesses three men being eliminated from the contest as the crash into each other.
         The FBI is able to use a new heat sensing satellite tracking system to locate the island that the race is on – indicated by the large number of heat signatures traveling around the island course.
         Alex’s bike gets a flat. He uses up a lot of his allotted time but is able to make it back on the course before being eliminated. The bike portion of the race ends as two men crash into each other and both fall over a cliff.
         The second transition area goes very smoothly, though exhaustion has really set in and Alex has trouble getting himself moving. The run course is located in the center of the hotel, and the run up the hill to get there becomes a walk. He is able to get running again once he hits the track.
         The under cover reporter, now off to make another recording of the happenings of the race is pulled aside by several guards. He soon finds himself facing the host, who apparently knew who he was from the very start. He has decided not to let him run the story, and the reporter is tossed from the top of the building to his death.
         Alex has trouble with the first part of the run course and finds himself puking for a while. He is able to procure some wire from his MP3 player and hands it off to another runner who thinks he can jimmy the watches with it.
         The FBI and Alex’s wife head off towards the island where the race is taking place.
         Alex develops blisters as the run continues one. Again he and Victor work out a way to get a little sleep as more and more competitors are eliminated from the race.
         As the race winds down, Victor finds that he can not go on. He and Alex make a pact that whoever wins will take care of the other’s family. Victor stops and kneels down to pray before he is eliminated.
         With only two competitors left, Alex catches up to the other person only to find that that person appears to not be in any danger of stopping. The other runner however surprises Alex by just stopping for no apparent reason except to give the finger to the host. He stands there doing so until he is eliminated and Alex has won.
         Leaving Kara on a naval cruiser, the FBI make their final approach to the island.
         Alex is announced the winner and taken to a room where he can shower and change for the awards ceremony.
         The FBI lands on several different parts of the island and start to make their way towards the hotel.
         Alex enters the banquet hall and is alone on the main floor. The host then gives a short speech.
         The FBI enters the hotel and surrounds the banquet hall where they have confirmed that everyone is located.
         At the end of the host’s speech he informs Alex that since he has seen his face and the faces of his guests, he can not be allowed to leave. Alex is shocked because he won this ridiculous contest and can’t believe that he is not going to ever see his wife again.
         The FBI barge into the hall through the doors and windows – only to find an empty hall.
         In another hotel a hundred miles away from where the FBI has invaded, Alex is shot in the head. The guards remove his body and begin cleanup of the island. By nightfall, there will never be any indication that anything has gone on here.
         The FBI agent is shocked that there is nobody there and demands some answers. He doesn’t know how he is going to explain this to Alex’s wife.
         The host exits the hotel through the roof and heads towards a waiting helicopter with his assistant. His assistant informs him that the FBI are at another island thoroughly confused, and that arrangements are already underway to start up the next event.
         Sitting in the captain’s quarters of the naval airplane carrier, Kara Foreman gets a funny feeling and suddenly she knows that her husband is not going to be coming home to her.
