The garden I planted can never compare
to the wildflowers that bloom everywhere;
a gift from a gardener much greater than I,
yet He smiles down on me, as I give it a try.
Wild Iris in the fields are a beautiful blue,
shared with white daisies, columbine too;
buttercups nod with a bright yellow smile,
daylilies of orange grow in many a mile.
Wild roses bloom with a soft shade of pink
and if you look closely, purple violets wink;
His garden keeps blooming with nary a care;
blessing us all with the beauty everywhere.
I weed and I feed, and I think I've done well,
my flowers are blooming, it really is swell;
but the children pick the wildflowers for me
and their smiling faces are something to see!
