A poem I wrote that describes some of my feelings concerning sexual abuse as a child.
Sun shining oh so bright in my eyes,
beautiful cloudless blue skies.
I wish that I could enjoy life this way,
but all I can think of is not another day.

Tears, oh so many tears falling down my face,
someone please help me get out of this place.
What was it about me that made him think that he could say?
" If you tell someone I sure hope you know how to pray."

With my legs spread wide and know where to hide.
All I could think to say was, "Dear Lord, please not another day."

the things he did made me cry and wish to die.
I was only eight and I wanted to wait,
until that day when I had my special date.

Now, all I do is pray and say; "Dear, Dear Lord not another day."
