I'll Always Be There

I sit alone and ponder,
What life is all about,
And as I look towards my future,
My mind is filled with doubts.

Will my days be filled with laughter?
Will love surround my heart?
Will all my friends be true to me?
Or will my world be torn apart?

Will the sound of sweet birds singing,
Be muffled by sobs and tears?
Will the four walls that enclose me
Be protection from my fears?

Will sunshine be obstructed
Bythe clouds that drape my eyes?
Will all I see are stormy days?
Will life just pass me by?

I turn my hear towards heaven
And question the Lord above,
It's been so long since I called on Him,
Will His answers be filled with love?

My heart is filled with His words,
As He answers true and clear,
I've always been here to lighten your load,
I've always been here, my dear.

I'll shelter you from the stormy days,
I'll lift the clouds from your sight,
Sweet songs of birds will fill your ears,
As you lay down your head at night.

I'll guide you through the toughest times,
I'll kiss your tears away,
I'll face your doubts along your side,
I'll guide you when you sway.

I only ask one thing from you,
And I promise you all the above,
Besides never leaving your side,
I'll give you all my love.

I don't want riches, silver, or gold,
Or promises that can be broken,
I don't want assumptions of your needs,
Like words that's left unspoken.

I only want you to turn to me,
Whether times are good or bad,
I want you to talk to me each day,
If you're happy or you're sad.

I want to share in your happiness,
I want to dry your tears,
I want to rejoice in your accomplishments,
I want to calm your fears.
