This is a story full of action designed to capture the energy of a young boys imagination. |
A perfect day, the sun is shining and there isn’t a cloud in sight. Wait there is someone coming; the footsteps get louder, a giant of a shadow. It’s moving faster now, coming closer. But it’s not coming for me... where could it be headed? I spot the target. There is an innocent little Smurf in the monster’s path. She couldn’t possibly defend herself. I am the only one who can save her now. In an instant I will be ready. I step in front of her; I am the only thing standing between her and the beast. He roars up and strikes... I was too fast he didn’t hit me. I grab the girl and bolt; but if I leave this beast it would only hurt someone else, what am I to do? I fly the girl up to a hill, leave her, and return to the last place I saw the monster. It’s nowhere to be found, where could it have gone? What parson could it be chasing down now? I spot a track. A trail of monstrous foot prints leading down to the city. Smurfsville is in danger. Now I can see clearly that this is no ordinary monster, it’s Gargamel. Gargamel was a plague to all creatures’ years ago, but he hadn’t been a problem for years. He must have given up the docile life. He has now returned to terrorizing the innocent, and as I told him before that is unacceptable. I’m afraid I will have to destroy him if he cannot vow to shut himself off from the public for all eternity. There he is, I’ve got him in my sight now. “Gargamel!” “Leave those Smurf’s alone!” I said. “O look it’s the little Super Smurf come to save the day! *hahaha. So what are you gonna do if I don’t?” was his response. “I sent you fleeing to your cave 10years ago and I will do it again if you do not leave the public alone!” “Well I think I can take you now. So give me all you got, you Super Smurf!” he threatened, I have faith that good always triumphs over evil, Gargamel could never beat me. “Lets take it outside the village to Grandpa Smurf’s Battle Field, and finish this once and for all!” “FINE we fight at dawn” was his reply. “See you at dawn! Until then you must leave the villager’s alone. Agreed?” “Agreeeed.” The next morning we were to battle. But I am worried, maybe what Gargamel said was true, he had a lot of time to practice, maybe he could beat me. There is no time to back out now. If I can’t beat him who can, who would even try? …***The Fight has Already Begun***… Gargamel continues with hard blocky strikes. *Crash, bang, boom. He strikes widely, swinging his arm to-and-fro hitting anything in his path. I continually dodge his blows. *O no he has hit me! Once, twice, three times he manages to hit me before I can regain my composure and fly up around his huge thrashing body. Because of his size, Gargamel moves slowly, but strikes with great force. There is no way I can go on any longer taking these blows. I have to think of something, and fast. That’s it! There is a large crater in the ground out in the middle of the Battle Field that I remember from my childhood, not many know its there. The crater is very deep but from the top you can’t tell because its covered up with moss and vines that stretch over its opening. The vines are sturdy enough to hold up my small weight, but not Gargamel. I will just have to get him to chase me, then I can run over the trap, and as soon as he gets over it his weight will collapse the vines and he will fall. Here is my chance... *Run, jump, fly. He sees me...here he comes. *Clump, thump, thud. His huge feet slam against the ground making every blade of grass quiver and shake with fear of being crushed. I’ve come up to it; it will all be over in a second. At the crater’s edge I begin to glide across, as if I was floating over the thin vines. Here he comes bumbling, and stumbling across the field chasing after me. He’s waiting for the moment when he will have enough momentum to jump up and crash on top of my small body. But I know that with the distance there is between us that he will fall down into the crater far before he could get the chance to make another attack. Here it comes, any moment now I will here the sound that will signal my victory...and all the crowds will chant my name... “Tommy, Tommy, where are you boy?” “Tommy get up here. Its dinner time, now hurry up” “Coming mother” “Where have you been? Were you watching cartoons again? Why didn’t you come when I called the first time?” “Sorry mom, I must have been day-dreaming. It won’t happen again. Is there anything I can help you with?” |
