THE AGONY OF A WIFE (AND MOTHER)

the agony of a wife and mother
is the toil of life and love
it is the bounds that bind a soul
to a not so happy home

the pain and misery that lies beneath
is the duty that mothers and wives must keep
trying to hold together family and future
while losing her own individuality

she cries herself to sleep some nights
and rages against defeat
knowing that while her heart breaks
her babies rest in bliss-filled peace

she puts her dreams and hopes aside
and open the future for her babes
knowing way deep down inside
that tomorrow is far away for her

and yet their partner has no clue
of just how much it takes
to start each day with a hole in her heart
and never give the heartache away

for they can not understand
that a mothers love or a wife’s need
does not have a start on end
and how very often her soul bleeds

the agony that hides its truth in a wife (and mothers) life
never comes to a stop or and
for even when children are grown it is still there
waiting to rise up again

for a wife and mother never stop being what they are
even divorce and age and growth can not change
the truth in ones soul and heart
once a mom once a wife forever one you shall be
from the moment you say I do( they are born)
until eternity
