a poem from a son to his lost father |
This poem is written to honor (in my opinion)the greatest man to walk the Earth- my father Virgil Jackson Greenwood A PIECE OF HEAVEN I walk with pride My head held high Showing all who gaze upon me What i have inside What you gave me How you showed me to be What you left for me To continue your life I smile each day That was your way Share one with the world And don't ever ask for pay Cause it's free It's how we should all be From you to me And to my son's someday I think back and remember A never dying ember It feels so real So i close my eyes to surrender When days were yours and mine And so wondrous was life I thought we had all the time But time doesn't last forever I see you in dreams So real it seems I wanna show you and tell you So many things I wanna touch you again Just hold your hand Talk man to man That'd be just keen I'd love to show you my sons God, they're so much fun Watch you guys meet Watch you guys play and run Let you tell them about me How i used to be Tell them everything About how my life begun I show my pride daily That's how you made me That path you left Is the one I'm taking For you, me, and my sons Cha pisa la cho anoa Sharin it with everyone And Dad, save a piece of Heaven for me |
