Before the Dance

I cherish this feeling
But I also loathe this feeling.
Excited beyond comparison
But afraid of expecting
Something,
And receiving nothing in return.

The happiness I feel,
The joy of walking on air.
Seeing colors brighter and clearer
Than before.

The sadness of betrayal,
When all the world is gray,
Cloudy and unhappy.
The inbetween times of lonliness
And sadness.

Wondering when life will change,
Seeing a glimpse of the rainbow,
And realizing there is hope.
