Written for a Korean War veteran diagnosed with cancer |
PRAYERS FOR SAM It seems that in our golden years, life can bring heartache and tears; when cancer strikes so close to home the first thing you feel is so alone. But you are not alone by any means, beside you stands the girl of your dreams, who will hold you close and let you cry and she'll understand the reason why. In the quiet moments when you're at rest, Maggie writes to those you love the best and lets them know, in no uncertain way that the news you got wasn't good today. The Band of Brothers, who survived the war, read her words and their prayers will soar upwards to Heaven for His healing grace, with memories of a different time and place. Be of stout heart and know that we all care, as you did for us when we were over there; You're much to young for any angel wings so our prayers good health surely brings! A man who looked the Devil in the eye on a hill in Korea, that Christmas in July - You can take on this fight for life and win, so don't give up and don't you give in! Sam and Maggie, my thoughts, each prayer, join those of other folks who truly care; and may the news you send on another day be that Sam's around for a good long stay. Please pray for Sam and Maggie Countrymom 3/26/06 |
