This is a poem about how easily you can be hurt by someone you love.
Here take it
No, you can have it
I want you to
You’re the only person I could say that to
Besides, it’s useless if you don’t have it
Be careful- don’t drop it
My heart is fragile

Will you be mine?
How I’ve longed to ask you
But I hesitate
Afraid to unmask you
Because your response
Could shatter my world
Let the seasons bleed together
As my senses are twirled
Dizzy and disoriented
No one to lean on
I fall alone
And let my consciousness be gone
Yet even in my dreams
I can’t stop falling
The echo of your words
Perpetually present, never calling
An unholy pestilence
Rotting my mind
Internal decomposition
My heart confined
Floating in liquefied organs
And blood from burst veins
Sinking into myself
Bound in chains
Liquidate my assets
My heart cannot be sold
You wouldn’t take it for free
My love’s worth its weight in gold
So I’m terrified of your answer
I can see how things would go
Could you ever love me?
Your reply: No.

What’s that?
You don’t need it?
Don’t *want* it?
That’s okay I guess
I’ll hold onto it
Lock it away
Oh, would you look at that
I guess it doesn’t really matter anymore
It’s broken
