Who would have known that someone you didn't even know could turn out so very special.
You couldn't believe the love that you felt for someone you had never even saw or met.
You heard her heartbeat for the first time.
You sat back and watched as she kicked at your side.
That feeling deep inside of you that you'd never forget...
That is the strength of a child.

Who would've known that someone you once knew could turn out so very special.
You couldn't believe how fast you'd became attached and just how much you loved her.
You heard her sing her first verse at the age of three.
It was only "Old McDonald", but it sounded like a symphony.
You saw her read her first words at the age of five.
She read the words "at", "in", and "out" and you couldn't believe how fast she had learned.
That feeling deep inside of you as you shared every single moment...
That is the strength of a child.

Who would've known as that child did grow that something could go so wrong.
You couldn't believe the pain that you felt when they told you that she had cancer.
You heard her say, "What does that mean? Momma will I get better?"
You watched her cry as she found out why her life would soon be over.
That feeling deep inside of you as you wished, coped, and prayed...
That is the strength of a child.

Who would've known that child's time with you could be cut short.
You couldn't believe the way she smiled when you knew she knew that today could be her last day.
You heard her say from day to day, "Momma, Jesus will take care of me."
You watched her say all of her goodbyes before she left this world.
That sorrow deep inside of you...
