Darkness

Of all the days,

in all the ways,

that sadness crept

and darkness wept,

and tides that have flown

with their fiery tone.


And the dawn that stood still

when Sun beguiled that hill;

But never rose

with its basic pose.


Of all the hymns, in that time,

that were never sung,

- a bell shattered when it rung.
