A TRUE STORY FROM THE BACKWOODS OF ALASKA. "A CHILD OF MANY-LOVE ALL". |
THE BLADE OF NO RETURN (no kids) TO A "CHILD OF MANY---LOVE ALL" A wolf's pelt would bring a high price. But only if it was beautiful and nice. Bullet holes would never do. It would scare away the others too! A trap might get one. But that would be no fun. Do you have a clue, as to what an Alaskan trapper might do? He would take his knife, clean and sharp, cover it will Caribou blood. The taste a wolf would love. The smell would cling. The aroma would fling. And be released into the wild. It would travel for many a mile. He'd stick the butt of his knife into the snow. For all the wolves to smell and know. He tempted the wolves into his snare, to come and taste his metal ware. He would go back to his cabin, sit by the fire. Have a shot of whiskey, it was time to retire. The smell of the blood would be tempting you see. For the wolf to come and have a lick or three. His tongue would be cut by the taste of the steel. It turned out to be his own blood, that was his final meal. He would lick it again and again, until the trapper would win. The wolf would lay there in the snow, pristine and ready to go. Another would come without a clue. Before he knew it, he was a goner too! After awhile there were five or six, who came to take their fatal licks. The taste was good, they couldn't stop. Until another wolf was piled on top. Each one continued to eat, until blood soaked and covered their feet. One after another each took their turn, licking the BLADE of NO RETURN. They licked it and licked it until their lives drained away. Never to return to romp or play. And there they lay. Waiting for the trapper to return the next day. Late in the morning the trapper would come, pick up the corpses one by one. He counted the dead, as he loaded his sled. Each would bring a high price. They were so pristine and nice. He never forgot to pick up his knife. And this is how the trapper would get the highest price. **************************************** A DIRTY LITTLE SECRET FROM THE BACKWOODS OF ALASKA.
