My Wife

White hair frames the angelic face.
Green plaid flannel covers shapely legs.
Unpainted toes curl as one ankle crosses
over the other. One hand brushes
the face so framed as she laughs and tells me
about her day, with obvious joy.
She looks at me, and smiles.

She takes my breath away.
