The Visible Intruder

I am your friend
Who is trailing you always
Sometimes you notice me and wonder what I am
And sometimes you never bother me at all

I was eavesdropping when you were sharing heat
With your girlfriend
And cuddling and fondling her
As both of us have the same one

I will be lost in thought when you are too
I hate darkness as it makes me invisible
And I love light as it makes me live
I hate light sometimes
As it makes me look akward at times

When you were young you played with me
And made beautiful figures
Of animals , birds and what not
Of course I am there
As a constant companion
For animate and inanimate alike

I am omnipresent
And when you laugh I laugh with you
When you weep I weep with you
I age with you as we are twins
I am your best friend from birth till death

And I am more closer to you than your lover
I part with your lover when you do
I am emotionally bonded with you
Than you think, till your death

Sometimes I make you afraid
You fear me if you are a coward
And I am a sinsiter sign
That sometimes send chill down your spine
Especially when I am not yours
And you are all alone

I know all your secrets
Much more of what you do
Than what you tell others that you will
I am a mute witness to all crimes of humanity
And to all good things that you do

I am no more once you are so
And I perish with you
Unlike soul which they say
Will pass from one body to another once you die

I share my whole life with you
But rarely you bother to care
My attitude and thoughts are yours
I hate and love when you do the same
I pray to the same God that you pray

People say too many 'me' does not make an object
Some often advice as not to live in others 'me'
And if you have guessed right by now
I am none other than your own shadow !
