Poem Iwrote for English class 20 mins before it was due. How goes it? Has a critical tone.
MATERIALISTIC?

When Gene Simmons bought a tux,
Abercrombie paved the way,
For his good friend
Fitch's brand new look.

The only rebels were
Weird enough to see the lies,
Or
Poor enough to hate the truth.

When Kurt Cobain died,
Ralph Lauren's mighty stallion
Trampled the poor, dirty pigs,
And herded America's desperate sheep.

The only rebels were
Weird enough to see the lies,
Or
Poor enough to hate the truth.

When yesterday's gangsta,
Became today's richest man,
I lost all hope in this land,
That claims to be brave,
But only breeds the cliché.

The chasm still grows,
Between the rich and the poor,
The geeky kids and label whores,
The second-hand and trendy stores,

Between the calm, old-fashioned, down-to-earth,
And how much that day's new outfit's worth.

The only rebels were
Weird enough to see the lies,
Or
Poor enough to hate the truth.
