My eyes rest upon this stranger
My heart warns of his danger
I have to satisfy my curiosity's hunger
I couldn't wait any longer

At the sight of him, my pulse quickened
His deep blue eyes kept me frightened
Of what I might have lost had I not hastened
To the echoes of his rich laughter I listened

I took my time and walked slowly
His enchanting gaze was lovely
It got me lost and I was sorry
For the other girls got there in a hurry

I never saw him again, I kept on yearning
But from my mistakes, I was learning
The fires of loneliness are still burning
The thoughts of him will keep on haunting

Cupid has hit me with his arrow
And once again I live in sorrow
I need all the courage I can borrow
