Going through a rough patch at the moment and this little poem was the prodct of it.
Ignorance is Bliss

Ignorance truly is bliss.
One cannot hear, feel or fear the brewing tempest
From inside the obscurity of solitude.
It is honest protection preferable to engagement.
Instinctive, like a prime-evil force of nature
The eye lures us away from protection and into isolation.

Is ignorance bliss?
The encompassing storm makes us believe it.
The pain, the angst, the passion it blows towards us
Make us believe an inescapable lie
“Isolation, withdrawal & rage suck the pain away”
The darkening squall lies with the voice of a demonic trickster

Ignorance IS bliss.
Behind the fortifications of solitude our pain is our own.
Our pain brews inside us rather than transmitting itself
To those who feel confused by the black-whole of our feelings.
It is our pain alone, it is something which belongs us, it fuels us
Others do not need it, want it or understand it.

Ignorance is self destruction.
The depth of human emotion is what led us here.
The inability or desire to not confront the darkness was the epicenter
It brought out the best and the worst in us,
It made us see the things within us that make us a flame
A flame who is about to douse itself in fuel thinking it was water

Even within the walls of prison the light shines in, no matter how dull and dank.
Eventually, the storm clears and normality tries to return.
Our isolation, our ignorance, our escape has been ended by time.
Time cannot heal all wounds but it can make it bearable
Our ignorance has prevailed; it spared others from the darkness & the storm
Ignorance truly is bliss
