It's Over!

What is is about a new year that gets us all excited?

New Year... New You... New Everything... Yup... Until next week maybe?

Not so fast with the pessimism.

Let's first celebrate all that went well in 2018. That will be something different for each of us.

In my case, 2018 was mostly positive in that I got to visit my family. My oldest son got to travel to France for four weeks in summer, and my mom visited us here for a month. All nice family things.
The truth is that I didn't do much on the creative end. But I am happy to report that I finished strong with a NaNoWriMo project that reached over 80,000 words by November 30th. So while I haven't published anything, I have something to work with this year.

Now let's make a few decisions about our creative goals that we can commit to and stick to.

My goal for 2019 is to write a chapter a week. This is very ambitious for me, but I've never really pushed myself to work hard on my creativity. So this will be my challenge.

If you haven't decided on a creative goal for yourself for 2019, you are in the right place to find several options of which at least one should spark your writing bug. In the editor's picks, there are some contests & activities that help you to keep going by providing a framework of deadlines and motivation. Have a look. What have you got to lose?
